Making a CASE for Christian Higher Education
Complete Education
Christ-centered higher education integrates faith and learning in ways that shape a person for a complete life.
Academic Excellence
Students in Christian colleges and universities are taught by faculty who bring expertise in their specific discipline and rigorous standards of scholarship to the classroom.
Social Encouragement
A healthy campus environment, positive peer pressure, trustworthy mentors and a strong sense of Christian community combine to create the balance and boundaries essential for security and growth during the college years.
Eternal Perspective
Christian colleges and universities reinforce eternal priorities first established in students’ homes and churches.
Note: January is National Christian Higher Education Month. The Christian Higher Education Foundation, comprising Christian colleges and universities throughout our fellowship, is promoting the value and unique benefits of attending a Christian university. Rod’s Column: January 20th
January 15, 2008

Here is a story that appeared in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette on January 10, 2008.
Jane Hambleton, 48, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, has found a buyer for her 19-year-old’s car after running an ad in The Des Moines Register that reads: “OLDS 1999 Intrigue. Totally uncool parents who obviously don’t love teenage son, selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under front seat. $3,700/ offer. Call meanest mom on the planet.”
This story made it into the main stream media. Mrs. Hambleton was interviewed and explained she had hundreds of calls supporting her parenting method. Way to go Mrs. Hambleton!
If you’re a teen reading this and you can’t figure out why a parent would do such a intelligent thing, it’s time you sat down to talk with your parents. If you feel they’re too uncool for a chat with such a hip teen as yourself, I would be glad to explain their archaic point of view!

Rod’s Column: January 13th
January 13, 2008
Youth Outreach University is almost here! Our teens are showing a lot of interest this year. I want to remind the adults that they are welcome to come and attend the keynote speakers. Y.O.U. will include 32 teachers covering a wide range of topics.
Most of the topics teach teens how to help others learn about Christ. However, there are other classes to spark interest in God’s word such as the class on angels taught by Ed Myers. Ted Knight teaches a class on recognizing those who are in danger of suicide.
This year, just like last year, there are classes specifically designed for young ladies with teachers like Kim Wilson, Sherry Pollard, and Angela Almond. Carroll Sites, Ed Myers, Joe Jones, and Robert Swain are the only four teachers returning this year. Their classes are always packed. These classes cover salvation, angels, Revelation, and Romans and they are excellent.
Get your teen excited about this opportunity. You can still register, you might not get the shirt, but you’ll get an eternal education.
