Downtown Announces Scholarship Fund

The Downtown congregation has a new scholarship fund in place. This fund is for any member or members of the Downtown congregation who are interested in pursuing a degree or certificate of completion in pulpit ministry, youth ministry or missions. The goal of the fund is to assist recipients while attending an elder-approved college or university. Money designated for recipients will go toward tuition, books or living expenses as decided by the elders.

Several areas of criteria must be met. Candidates must:

• Display an evangelistic fervor
• Submit a written purpose statement
• Maintain a certain grade point average
• Demonstrate an honorable Christian life while a recipient of the scholarship fund

In addition to funding provided in the church’s budget, individuals may contribute to the fund anonymously or in the form of an honorarium or memorial.

Those interested in the scholarship fund may pick up an application at the church office.
